Jan Ammann wurde zum klassischen Sänger ausgebildet. Er absolvierte Meisterklassen in New York, Leipzig und Salzburg. Bereits während seines Studiums in München wurde er für die Titelrolle im Musical LUDWIG² in Füssen ausgewählt und spielte diese auch in der Welturaufführung von LUDWIG². Weitere Stationen seiner Karriere waren Hauptrollen in DIE SCHÖNE UND DAS BIEST, MAR I CEL, WEST SIDE STORY, JEKYLL & HYDE, SHOW BOAT und VICTOR / VICTORIA. In Oberhausen und Stuttgart eroberte er als Graf von Krolock in TANZ DER VAMPIRE endgültig die Herzen der Musical-Fans und spielte danach Maxim de Winter im Musical REBECCA in Stuttgart. Von 2014 bis 2016 war Jan in Stuttgart als Kerchak in TARZAN zu sehen. 2016/17 wurde er einmal mehr als Krolock in
TANZ DER VAMPIRE in Berlin, München, Hamburg und Stuttgart gefeiert. 2017 stand er bei den Freilichtspielen Tecklenburg in der Neuinszenierung des Musicals REBECCA erneut als Maxim de Winter auf der Bühne. 2018 gab Jan in der deutschsprachigen Erstaufführung des Musicals DOKTOR SCHIWAGO an der Oper Leipzig der Titelrolle Gesicht und Stimme - genauso wie 2019 bei den Freilichtspielen Tecklenburg. In DIE PÄPSTIN verkörperte er 2018/19 in Füssen und Stuttgart den Gerold und in DER RING den Wotan. Zudem steht Jan Ammann bei Konzerten wie dem Mitternachtsball und mit Bandformationen, wie den Milestones als Solist und mit eigenen Soloprogrammen regelmäßig auf den Bühnen Europas. Von März 2021 bis Mitte 2023 war Jan Ammann als Chris Weigel in der RTL-Serie UNTER UNS im Fernsehen zu sehen. An einigen Terminen im Jahr wird Jan Ammann nach wie vor zum bayerischen König in LUDWIG² in Füssen. Anfang September 2023 konnte man ihn dort zudem in der Nachfolgeproduktion zum SCHWANENKÖNIG als DREAM KING im Festspielhaus Neuschwanstein erleben. Bei THIS IS THE GREATEST SHOW ist Jan Ammann 2024 bereits zum vierten Mal mit dabei und u. a. als P.T. Barnum im Greatest Showman-Block zu sehen.

Jan Ammann was trained as a classical singer. He completed master classes in New York, Leipzig and Salzburg. During his studies in Munich, he was selected for the title role in the musical LUDWIG² in Füssen and also played this role in the world premiere of LUDWIG². Further stages of his career included leading roles in THE BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, MAR I CEL, WEST SIDE STORY, JEKYLL & HYDE, SHOW BOAT and VICTOR / VICTORIA. He finally won the hearts of musical fans in Oberhausen and Stuttgart as Count von Krolock in TANZ DER VAMPIRE and then played Maxim de Winter in the musical REBECCA in Stuttgart. From 2014 to 2016, Jan could be seen in Stuttgart as Kerchak in TARZAN. In 2016/17, he was once again celebrated as Krolock in TANZ DER VAMPIRE in Berlin, Munich, Hamburg and Stuttgart. In 2017, he was once again on stage as Maxim de Winter in the new production of the musical REBECCA at the Freilichtspiele Tecklenburg.
In 2018, Jan gave face and voice to the title role in the German-language premiere of the musical DOKTOR SCHIWAGO at the Leipzig Opera - as he did in 2019 at the Tecklenburg Open Air Theatre. In 2018/19, he embodied Gerold in DIE PÄPSTIN in Füssen and Stuttgart and Wotan in DER RING. Jan Ammann also regularly appears on European stages as a soloist and with his own solo programs at concerts such as the Mitternachtsball and with band formations such as the Milestones. From March 2021 to mid-2023, Jan Ammann was seen on television as Chris Weigel in the RTL series UNTER UNS. On a few dates a year, Jan Ammann still becomes the Bavarian king in LUDWIG² in Füssen. At the beginning of September 2023, he could also be seen there in the follow-up production to the SCHWANENKÖNIG as the DREAM KING in the Neuschwanstein Festival Hall. Jan Ammann will be taking part in THIS IS THE GREATEST SHOW for the fourth time in 2024 and can be seen as P.T. Barnum in the Greatest Showman block.
